Capcom is giving its all with its upcoming titles. First is none other than the Monster Hunter Wilds which releases February 28, 2025. Next is the "Onimusha Way of the Sword" which is a new installment of the famous old franchise.

Recently at the PlayStation State of Play event, Capcom revealed the new gameplay trailer along with the main protagonist, "Miyamoto Musashi."

Play as Miyamoto Musashi

The new gameplay trailer really showcases how good the Capcom has done its job to bring Miyamoto Musashi as a character in life in the game. They also confirmed that this is modeled after Toshirô Mifune, the legendary samurai actor who has appeared in multiple films from Akira Kurosawa.

Musashi, known for his swordsmanship, artistic ability, and philosophy, now wields the Oni Gauntlet, bringing his unique approach to bear on the demonic Genma. The gameplay footage shows Musashi facing not only a big monster, but also a horde of smaller, but no less dangerous, monsters and opponents.

The combat system looks fluid and smooth along with some hints of strategies that can be implemented with tools and surroundings. If you have played old Onimusha games, you will find them a little similar but very improved this time.

The graphics look amazing and it will surely remind you of Ghost of Tsushima, except here we are fighting demons.

Overall, it appears amazing, and I hope we can receive a free demo of this game. Toward the end of the trailer, you'll see that the Oni Gauntlet can communicate. There were also some amusing and comic relief scenes with Musashi, implying that he will not be a completely serious main character.

For now, the exact official release date is still a mystery, but Capcom has revealed that the game will launch in 2026. In the future, we will get more updates about the game, so make sure to keep an eye on the official social media accounts of Capcom.
