All of our favorite games, even sports titles, are going roguelike. Especially the sports titles. WWE 2K added Faction Wars, and NBA 2K25 gave us Breakout Mode. Next up, MLB The Show 25 has entered the stadium with Diamond Quest.

Each time you play Diamond Quest, it will generate an entirely new board with moments, challenges, and three-inning games. During some games, you'll have the opportunity to risk your current earnings to earn greater rewards.

To get those juicy rewards, you'll need to win a stadium challenge. The odds of winning rewards get better the higher difficulty you play on. Playing on the highest difficulty level, G.O.A.T. can give up to a 70 percent chance of unlocking the Epic rewards if you win.

While all this is going on, an evil baseball called the Zone Sweeper is pursuing you. No, seriously! If it catches you, prepare for a game on Legend difficulty. Of course, if you think you can take the Sweeper, he does offer really good rewards. Just how good at The Show are you, captain?

Since it's a roguelike, along the way you can unlock various perks that make your run theoretically easier. Patented game modes such as Showdown and Conquest are still in the game as well. Sony San Diego does a great job of making single-player every bit as fun and challenging as online play is. You can easily spend hours playing this game without ever stepping online.

That gameplay isn't just ornamental. If you decide to try the online offerings in Diamond Dynasty, the rewards you've unlocked will be there ready to help your team battle online.
