Marvel Rivals is a huge hit for NetEase Games, garnering over 20 million players since its Dec. 6 launch. Time for the Marvel/Disney empire to unleash its greatest superpower: corporate synergy. Marvel Rivals' X account reveals something special is coming in 2025.

"We're teaming up with Marvel Snap, Marvel Puzzle Quest, and Marvel Future Fight to bring you a brand new collaboration available on January 3," the account tweeted. "Keep an eye out for further updates!"

As Prince Namor might say, a rising tide lifts all boats. He would probably then shout Imperious Rex, sink all the boats and warn the surface dwellers to stay away from Atlantis. But he'd be spot on about the boat thing. Marvel Snap has been a huge hit in collectible card game space, racking up more than $200 million since September 2024.

Ben Brode of Hearthstone fame designed the game, built around preventing someone from becoming good at it simply by spending hundreds on cards day one. Its "Snap" has a dual meaning. It refers to the infamous Thanos snap in Avengers: Endgame, which wiped out half of the life in Marvel's fictional universe. Also, it refers to the speed at which the game is played. Players use 12 card decks for a game that ends in a couple of minutes.

This is the second collaboration between Snap and Rivals. It will be the first team up with Puzzle Quest and Future Fight, and I can't wait to see what they're cooking up.
