Cam Ward's answers during Fortnite stream implied the Titans will draft him

Recently, a report said New York Jets owner Woody Johnson consults Madden ratings before making trades. He's behind the times; Fortnite is where the NFL news breaks now. Cam Ward, expected by most experts to be the first pick in the NFL Draft, is also an avid Fortnite player. During his stream Tuesday night, he showed he's a real teammate by heaping far too much praise on his presumptive Tennessee Titans teammates.

When asked to name the top running backs in the NFL, he picked Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears. I doubt even Pollard and Spears would push that narrative themselves. But it sounds just like the kind of thing you'd say if you expect to be their quarterback in a week.

Asked about wide receiver A.J. Brown, who used to play for the Titans but just won a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles he dropped this quote:

"A.J. Brown's a dawg," Ward said. "But he's not Calvin Ridley."

Those words are technically true, in the same way it would be true if I called Ernest Hemingway a dawg, but he's not Brian Allen.

With all due respect to my favorites like GutFoxx and CoryXKenshin, Cam's comment is the funniest thing I have heard in a gaming video in 2025. I hope the Titans allow him to keep streaming. I can't wait for somebody to ask him who would win if the '72 Dolphins played the 2025 Titans.

Lots of pro athletes game and create content in their spare time, and they don't all play Madden NFL or NBA 2K. As a matter of fact, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is such a fan of Call of Duty, the team limited his gaming time in its contract with him. Hey, an NFL career can be over in a single hit. I'm OK with these athletes pursuing passions outside the game, so they'll always have something to fall back on.
