Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is officially upon us. After the news about the Campaign being a little underwhelming, especially due to the length of the Campaign, the hopes are that the Call of Duty Multiplayer will lift the game off its feet.

One of the most talked about things when it comes to the Call of Duty franchise is the Prestige System. The Call of Duty Prestige System has changed drastically over the years. Back in the early Call of Duty days, you were able to Prestige at your own pace when you hit the max level. As time went on, things have evolved drastically. Which is why whenever a new Call of Duty comes out, gamers love to learn about the new Prestige System.

How do you Prestige in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

There is a good chance that if you are reading this, you are ready to take the next step in Multiplayer and claim your first Prestige for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The max level this year is 55. Once you get to level 55, you might be looking for a Prestige button because you will notice you aren’t leveling past 55 like you may have in previous installments of Call of Duty. If you scoured every setting and went through every tab looking for a Prestige option, you are going to be bummed to find out that there is no way to Prestige right now. However, the ability to Prestige is coming and it is coming soon.

When Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 kicks off on December 6, so will the ability to Prestige. If you are level 55 before the start of Season 1, any games you play online will not go towards your Multiplayer Rank. You will stay 55. Any Multiplayer modes that you play after Season 1 begins, you will automatically begin leveling up past 55 like it was in previous Call of Duty titles.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II had a similar Prestige System. In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, each Season brough on 5 Prestige’s, with 50 levels per each Prestige. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be following a very similar format.

Some gamers like the new style of Prestige System that we have seen in the recent past and others are hoping one day that it will go back to a very classic Prestige System. You never know, but it appears that the newer Call of Duty video games all favor the newer Prestige System.

You also won’t lose any of your weapons or progress for entering a new Prestige, but you will be able to earn lots of great new rewards, cosmetics, and other goodies for each new Prestige that you go through. Plus, you can display your brand-new Prestige Logo to each Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 lobby.

As for now, if you are sitting at level 55, there is nothing you can do in terms of a Prestige. All you can do is continue to grind the game, complete as many challenges as you can, rank up all of your favorite weapons, continue the weapon camo grind, and even check out Zombies.

As we get closer to the start of Season 1, more news about the Prestige System will start to reveal itself. Until then, there are plenty of other things to do in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Then in the blink of an eye, December 6 will be here.
