With almost every AAA video game that comes out, there’s the question of whether or not it will come to Xbox Gmae Pass. This is because a majority of Xbox console owners own some tier of the Xbox Game Pass. At this point, it has become more of a tradition to check whether or not the next “big game” is heading to Xbox Game Pass and the same can be said about Alan Wake 2.

Is Alan Wake 2 coming to Xbox Game Pass?

Unfortunately, Alan Wake 2 is not currently available on the Xbox Game Pass, you will notice that Alan Wake 2 is not currently available on the subscription service. Now, just because Alan Wake 2 isn’t on the Xbox Game Pass to start out, that doesn’t always mean that it will never get to the service.

In this case though, I would not hold your breathe. There is a good chance that Alan Wake 2 never will make it to the service at all.

The reason behind this is because if you are buying the game for PC, the Publish Rights are owned by Epic Games. Since Epic Games owns those rights, you aren’t going to find Alan Wake 2 on any other services besides the standard PlayStation or Xbox consoles. If Alan Wake 2 was to come to the Xbox Game Pass, Remedy Entertainment would be breaching the deal that they have with Epic Games.

If you remember, the same thing happened with Alan Wake Remastered. The game had the same rights with Epic Games and the game never made its way onto the Xbox Game Pass. It is a deal that Remedy Entertainment has had with Epic Games for quite a few years now.

Now, if you are talking about Alan Wake and Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, that is a completely different story. Both Alan Wake and Alan Wake’s American Nightmare have been on the Xbox Games Pass previously, but that is because those games didn’t have the Epic Games’ rights attached to them. In fact, both Alan Wake and Alan Wake’s American Nightmare can be purchased off of Steam to this day because there aren’t an PC exclusivity rights to those games.

With all that being said, if you are looking to play the sequel to Alan Wake, you are going to have to purchase the game for the PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series X|S, or the Epic Games store from your PC. Alan Wake 2 is loads of fun, and while it is a bummer Xbox Game Pass doesn’t offer it, it is surely worth any penny you are going to spend on it.
