New Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One games releasing in October 2023

For PlayStation gamers, October means the arrival of Marvel’s Spider-Man, arguably the biggest game of the year. But there’s plenty to be excited for on Xbox as well, especially in October, which is shaping up to be a massive month in terms of new game releases.

Leading the pack for Xbox is Forza Motorsport, the next major installment in Xbox’s flagship racing franchise. Forza Motorsport is serving as a reboot of the racing sim sub-series and will feature more than 500 cars and 800 performance upgrades as well as 20 completely rebuilt tracks with multiple layouts and five completely new tracks.

Also arriving on Xbox next month is Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake II, the long-awaited sequel to 2010’s survival action-adventure. A remastered version of the original Alan Wake was released back in 2021 so hopefully you played it because Alan Wake II continues the story of the best-selling thrilling novelist who has been trapped in an alternate dimension for over a decade. Alan Wake II is primarily a third-person action-adventure game, but mixes survivor horror gameplay elements.

For sports fans, we’ve got NHL 24 coming on October 6 followed by EA Sports UFC 5 on October 27.

And let’s also not forget about Assassin’s Creed Mirage. After a three year hiatus, Ubisoft’s action-adventure series is back with Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which takes us to 9th century Baghdad during the anarchy at Samarra. The Assassin’s Creed franchise has had a bit of a rough go in recent years, which explains why it’s been a while since we’ve gotten a new one, but Mirage is said to return to the series’ roots with a larger focus on storytelling and stealth gameplay.
