Will Starfield support mods on PC?

Gamers cannot wait to get their hands on Starfield. It has been a long time coming and it is long overdue for its release. Starfield will be coming to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. If you planned on purchasing Starfield for PC, there may be a big question you might want answered. Will Starfield support mods on PC?

Mods have become a major part of Bethesda video games on the PC for many, many years now. Fallout has thousands of mods that the community can download, Skyrim has thousands of mods that the community can download, and these mods have proved to be a staple for PC users.

Bethesda embraces the whole PC gaming modding community and that is why Bethesda has been supporting it throughout their biggest blockbuster video games for roughly 2 decades. Starfield is going to be one of the biggest video game releases of 2023 and PC players have been hoping that they can mod Bethesda’s newest game if they so wish.

The answer to this modding question actually surfaced back in 2021. However, if you missed the statement, let me fill you in. Todd Howard, who serves as director and executive producer at Bethesda Game Studios, stated during a Reddit AMA that the plan is for Starfield to have “full mod support like our previous games.”

Bethesda knows how much time goes into creating detailed mods and they love the idea of bringing other players ideas to life through modding. This is great news for users that love adding mods onto their PC games and for mod creators who love creating new content for gamers to enjoy.

As far as what mods will be available for Starfield, that is going to have to wait until September 6 when the game comes out. Mods are also something you might not want to add right away so you can get a feel for what the game feels like on its own.

With how big Starfield sounds like it is going to become, I am sure that over the course of the next year, there will be thousands of mods to download and try out. You won’t get to try them all out, but there will be plenty of them to choose from. The possibilities will be endless.
