Madden 24: Biggest Madden Ultimate Team changes
EA Sports has promised that Madden Ultimate Team in Madden 24 is going to be the biggest year for the game mode to date. This has gotten gamers pretty excited for what is to come, and they have every right to be so. In order to live up to the statement of being the “biggest year of Madden Ultimate Team yet,” EA Sports had to make some changes to the game mode. The changes that EA has made to Madden Ultimate Team in Madden 24 aren’t game breaking, but they are definitely going to make the game mode a bit more enjoyable.
New Madden 24 Madden Ultimate Team Features
Item Catalog
One of the coolest new features coming to Madden Ultimate Team is the ability to find players much easier. There are times when you jump into an online game of MUT, and you want to know how to get a player on the other team. In the past you would have just had to do research and figure out how to acquire that specific player. That is no longer the case.
In the item catalog, any item that you can obtain in MUT will be shown. If you click on an item in the catalog, it will show you where and how to get that specific item. It is a great new feature that will obtaining items much easier and more efficient.
Crossplay matchmaking
Crossplay matchmaking has been the big feature in gaming the past handful of years. Five years from now, it will be the new normal and something that everyone is used to in just about every video game that features multiplayer. It is already beginning to look like that now a days.
It has been confirmed that Madden 24 will be offering Crossplay and this goes beyond just head-to-head online matchmaking. Madden Ultimate Team will also be one of the game modes in Madden 24 that will offer Crossplay. Crossplay will allow you to match up with more gamers faster and offer a more competitive experience for players that you are not used to playing on different platforms.
Crossplay is only going to be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. If you planned on purchasing Madden 24 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, you will not be able to take advantage of Crossplay gaming.
Live Event Improvements
The NFL season ends in February every year with the Super Bowl. However, Madden 24 isn’t going to end in February. It is going to continue throughout the entire year up until the release of Madden 25. EA Sports is planning on seven full seasons of Madden Ultimate Team to make sure that there are new and exciting programs that go beyond the Super Bowl.
Last year, Mission MUT, Moldbreakers, and Gamechangers were new programs that made MUT feel fresh. With the seven full seasons preparped by EA Sports, it will be interesting to see which new programs are introduced and which ones make a return.
The Live Event HUB will also be tweaked a little bit to make it easier when new players join MUT. Not everyone plays MUT on day 1. Some players might start a few months after the game is released and sometimes it can get a bit confusing as to what the new content is. The Live Event HUB will also be catered to whichever program that you select, making it easier to focus on your current program.
Other Additions
Finally, there are going to be smaller quality of life updates made to MUT this year. Each year EA Sports fixes up and polishes some things to make things run more smoothly and that is what we are going to see once again. The Tutorial will be enhanced, the Competitive Pass has been revamped, and there will be some minor improvements to make sure MUT can live up to the biggest year yet.
The overall concept of MUT is going to be the same, but the changes that we have learned about is definitely going to separate Madden 23 from Madden 24. Witness these changes firsthand when Madden 24 is released on August 15.
