New York Jets Players Rip EA Sports for Aaron Rodgers’ Madden 24 Rating
By Max Mallow
Madden 24 ratings are out and we know which players are rated 99 overall, what players are underrated and even what the actual NFL players think of their ratings. While reacting to Madden ratings is a popular trend each year, the New York Jets have a new quarterback at the helm, a future Hall of Famer at that, who has helped raise expectations for the upcoming season. That QB is none other than four-time NFL MVP and Super Bowl XLV champion Aaron Rodgers.
Players and coaches have raved about his arrival, presence and practice during training camp, and Rodgers has certainly taken well to being one of the biggest stars in New York alongside Aaron Judge. The similarities to Brett Favre’s career haven’t been understated coming over from Green Bay, though Rodgers isn’t on this year’s cover like Favre was when he was traded to the Jets. Shoutout to you if you have the limited edition cover somewhere.
The New York Jets posted a reaction video of their players reacting to their Madden 24 ratings during training camp. The team has some awesome personalities and exciting young talent, so the overall video is a fun watch. Especially Sauce Gardner and Allen Lazard going back and forth.
But, words about Aaron Rodgers’ rating stood out.

“I know they did Aaron crazy… 86? I’m done with this,” Lazard said about two-and-a-half minutes into the video. Lazard has built up a connection with Rodgers from their time in Green Bay and Jets fans hope it translates to games at MetLife Stadium this season.
“How you gonna give Aaron Rodgers an 86? Four-time MVP,” Lazard said to last year’s Defensive Rookie of the Year. “That is disrespectful,” Gardner replied.
Rodgers had more come to his defense. Most notably from potentially his new number one target and last year’s Offensive Rookie of the Year, Garrett Wilson.
“Wait hold on am I seeing this right? Aaron Rodgers 86 overall?!”
Other highlights from the video include debates between cornerback DJ Reed and running back Michael Carter, plus a fun clip of wide receivers Corey Davis and Mecole Hardman. Hardman even called out Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle in a fun manner so he can get his speed up in game.
EA Sports puts a lot of pride into its Madden launch ratings, and there’s always the possibility that Jets players go up throughout the year especially if Rodgers leads the team to success. For now, Jets players aren’t very happy with their own rating nor their new quarterback’s overall.
