Can you emulate Pokemon games on Nintendo Switch?

Unfortunately, players are unable to emulate and play old Pokemon games from the Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Color, and the old Pokemon Snap. Gamers can emulate older Pokemon games on the Steam Deck, however.

For emulating games on the Steam Deck, it’s been recommended to utilize downloadable programs such as EmuDeck, which will load game files into the Steam Library.

An additional way to enjoy a Pokemon adventure down memory lane could consist of managing your favorite teams through Pokemon Home. Gamers can swap Pokemon across games such as Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Legends: Arceus, and Sword and Shield. Fans can transfer hard-to-find Pokemon from different games and regions.

Players can also enjoy playing older Pokemon games from the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance on the Nintendo 3DS, if these games were downloaded before the eShop closed on  March 27.

For more Pokemon information, take a look at the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This is a two-part DLC available only for the Pokemon Violet game. It takes players to the plan of Kitakami where they can learn more about the local legend of the Loyal There Pokemon. Part 1: The Teal Mask is planned for this fall, while Part 2: The Indigo Disk should arrive shortly after in the winter.
