Diablo IV: How to complete Secret of the Spring Quest
The beauty about a game like Diablo IV is that there is so much content available to you, that you are entertained for a boatload of hours. Diablo IV has a ton of Main Quests and Side Quests available. These Quests range in difficulty with some being harder than others. Some of them may even appear to be difficult from first glance, but really easy once you know what you’re doing. One of these Quests is called “Secrets of the Spring.”
The Secrets of the Spring Quest has caused a lot of confusion for some players as to how to complete the Quest. The Secrets of the Spring Quest is causing a lot of confusion because the Quest is basically asking you to solve a riddle if you are looking to complete it.
To find the Secret of the Spring Side Quest, you are going to want to make your way Northeast of Kyovashad. The exact location of where the Secret of the Spring Quest begins can be found on the map below.
How to solve the Secret of the Spring Quest in Diablo IV
When you make your way to the location above, you will notice a lot of scaffolding in this snowy area. On the ground by some of the scaffolding is a Discarded Note. When you interact with the Discarded Note it reads “Beacon of warmth in winter’s embrace, patience rewarded by nature’s own grace.” This is a riddle that you need to solve in order to complete the Secret of the Spring Side Quest.
After picking up the note, you will receive a map icon telling you to go to a nearby hot spring. The hot spring is located in the Frigid Expanse region.
Once you arrive at the hot spring, it is very unclear as to what the next steps are. The Discarded Note talks about having patience, but that can be taken in a variety of different ways. Some people think leaving your character AFK for a prolonged period of time will solve the riddle. This would be showing the game that you have patience by patiently waiting next to the hot spring. If this is what you thought would be the solution to solve this riddle, you are absolutely wrong and are wasting your time.
Instead, you are going to have to think a little more outside the box. In fact, way more outside the box. All you have to do is Emote in front of the hot spring. Not any old Emote, but the very specifically “Wait” Emote.
The reason why this riddle Side Quest is so hard to solve is because the “Wait” Emote is not one of the defaulted Emotes that are set for you. Instead, you must open up your Emote wheel and click on the “Customize” button. This will open up a menu with all the available Emote options that you can set on your Emote wheel.
You are going to have to assign the “Wait” Emote to your Emote wheel and save the changes that were made. Now that you have the “Wait” Emote set, you can go ahead and finish the Side Quest. Now all you have to do is Emote “Wait” and a chest will appear for completing the Side Quest.

Once you open the chest, you will be rewarded with some XP and Renown for Fractured Peaks. The Secret of the Spring Side Quest is actually really easy to complete once you know what the riddle means. However, without knowing the answer to the riddle, the Secret of the Spring Side Quest is one of the most confusing to solve in Diablo IV.
