The latest dungeon for Destiny 2 has arrived. The Season 21 dungeon, Ghosts of the Deep, was unlocked earlier today.

As the name suggests, the dungeon takes Guardians down into the depths of Titan’s methane sea “to confront the Lucent Hive and uncover what was lost to the waves.” New reward armor and the new Strand Exotic Trace Rifle awaits those who are brave enough to dive in and vanquish these dangerous foes.

But how do you access it?

How to start the Ghosts of the Deep Dungeon in Destiny 2

Before you can even think about accessing the Ghosts of the Deep Dungeon, you should know that it’s locked behind a paywall. You’ll need the Lightfall Dungeon Key. This can be acquired for 2,000 Silver (through the expansion tab of the in-game store), or through the Lightfall + Annual Pass edition, which includes the entire year of Destiny 2 content.

Once you have the Lightfall Dungeon Key, starting the Ghosts of the Deep Dungeon is pretty straightforward. Visit Hawthorne in the Bazaar at the Tower. She will give you the quest, “Rise.” Once you have this quest, head to the H.E.L.M. from the Director and start the Ghosts of the Deep Dungeon from there. The normal mode of Ghosts of the Deep has a recommended Power level of 1790.

Ghosts of the Deep is the first of two dungeons planned for the first year of Lightfall. The second dungeon will arrive with Season 23. The Lightfall Dungeon Key will provide you access to this second dungeon as well.

Looking even further ahead, Bungie has plans to reveal the next full-fledged expansion for Destiny 2, which is titled The Final Shape. This expansion was recently teased during the PlayStation Showcase, with the trailer revealing the return of the beloved character Cayde-6, voiced by Nathan Fillion. Bungie has plans to fully reveal The Final Shape on August 22, 2023 during the Destiny Showcase.
