What carries over from Breath of the Wild to Tears of the Kingdom?
If you completed Breath of the Wild and are about to start your adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’re likely wondering what (if anything) carries over to your new game.
As a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild, a rare occurrence in the overall Zelda franchise, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom drops players into the world of Hyrule once more on a grand adventure.
Like before, there’s a huge amount of features and content to uncover throughout the world, and plenty of ways to kit out Link on his journey. But if you already went through the process before in Breath of the Wild, earning Link plenty of hearts and stamina vessels among other items, does any of it carry over to Tears of the Kingdom if you’ve got a complete save file from Breath of the Wild?
What carries over from Breath of the Wild to Tears of the Kingdom?
In short, there isn’t much that carries over from Breath of the Wild to Tears of the Kingdom. Link will start out his adventure with three hearts and a singular stamina wheel. He’ll have none of his previous weapons, except a damaged Master Sword of no real immediate use. Link will also begin his journey without much in terms of clothes, either.
However, if you had any horses registered in Breath of the Wild, these will be available to you in Tears of the Kingdom. These transferred horses will also carry over their bond levels, so you won’t need to tame any new wild horses unless you want to.
