The first round of the 2023 NFL Draft is in the books and that means that we are getting even closer to the start of the 2023 NFL Season and the release of Madden 24. With the first overall pick, the Carolina Panthers selected Bryce Young, the talented quarterback out of Alabama. Now that Bryce Young is a member of the Carolina Panthers, we can expect to see him as the starting QB in Madden 24.

Sure, it is going to be great to see Bryce Young as the starting quarterback in Madden 24. However, he doesn’t have enough weapons around him to truly make the Carolina Panthers a threat yet in the video game or on the real NFL football field. Having Young at quarterback is going to be better than having Baker Mayfield, P.J. Walker, Sam Darnold, and Matt Corral, but you aren’t going to see his true impact be felt until he gets the right pieces of the puzzle around him.

The Carolina Panthers were in desperate need of a quarterback and Bryce Young was the most pro-ready one in the entire 2023 NFL Draft. The Panthers traded up from number 9 to make sure that they were able to acquire their franchise quarterback. Now that they have him, it is up to the organization to make sure that he is successful.

As far as Madden 24 is concerned, I do not expect Bryce Young to have an overly high overall based on his potential. In three to four years, the Carolina Panthers can be a team that has seen significant changes. It is going to require more than just a quarterback, but the Panthers are moving in the right direction.

Bryce Young is definitely a favorite to win Rookie of the Year next season. If Young wins the award, it will be the first time a QB has won Rookie of the Year since 2020, when Justin Herbert won the award. If Young’s rookie season is generous to him, expect to see EA Sport gradually increase his overall as the season goes on through weekly updates. I am expecting EA Sports to give Bryce Young somewhere in the area of a 75 overall. A lot of room to grow and it will with a lot of impact during his rookie season.
