No one likes when a game they are excited about gets delayed. It’s not fun for the developers nor the gamers that are eager to play it. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was a game that many were once excited about. But February’s PlayStation State of Play footage left many skeptical that the game would not live up to expectations. It appears that Rocksteady has taken into consideration all the feedback from fans and has announced that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League would be delayed from May 26, 2023, to February 2, 2024.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has gone through its fair share of delays. We knew Suicide Squad was being delayed again, but we expected it to only be delayed until sometime later this year. The real reason as to why Rocksteady decided to delay Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League until next February is because they want to make sure they provide the “best quality experience for players.” Rocksteady released the following statement via Twitter:

The number one goal for any developer is to make sure that the game that they provide for gamers is to the best experience they can get within the game. That exactly what Rocksteady is doing here.

We don’t exactly know what is going to come from this year long delay. Is the gameplay going to look better? Will there be any changes to the Battle Pass that was previously leaked? Are any of the features such as needing an internet connection to even play solo be changed? The answer to all of these questions is yet to be answered. However, we can expect to get some answers to these questions as the year goes on.

Just like Rocksteady stated in their post, they are excited to share news and announcements in the coming months and year to come. I would assume that new footage will be announced along with some sort of news related to the progress of the game will also be announced.

This news may be annoying for some gamers, but there is a bright side to this all. The ten-month delay is a great opportunity for Rocksteady to change any major negative feedback that was given to them from the community. Being such a long delay, there is plenty of time to fix things that need to be taken care of. The only thing that worries me is the delay trends that we have been seeing. With that being said, it wouldn’t surprise me if Rocksteady decides to delay it even further past February 2, 2024.
