Resident Evil: Death Island is a new, upcoming animated movie set in the Resident Evil universe featuring the return of classic Resident Evil characters. But has the cast been revealed yet?

The latest Resident Evil film adaptation has been revealed as Resident Evil: Death Island, following the 2017 Resident Evil: Vendetta. This time, the film follows protagonists Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield where their investigation of the zombie outbreak leads them to Alcatraz Island. Resident Evil characters Rebecca Chambers, Claire Redfield and Jill Valentine are also set to return.

According to Capcom, the animated film takes place in 2015, after the events of Resident Evil 6 (set in 2013) and a year after Resident Evil: Vendetta (set in 2014).

The film was announced by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on Feb. 2, 2023, and is set for release later this year on July 7, 2023. Resident Evil: Death Island is directed by Eiichirō Hasumi and written by Makoto Fukami.

We’re a few months off of the film’s launch and so far a western release has yet to be revealed. But what about its cast?

Resident Evil: Death Island cast

At the time of writing, neither the Japanese or English voice cast for Resident Evil: Death Island has been revealed. It is unclear if voice actors from the game will be returning to voice their characters in the movie, or if voice actors from Resident Evil: Vendetta will reprise their roles either.

Resident Evil: Vendetta’s English voice cast included Matthew Mercer as Leon S. Kennedy, Kevin Dorman as Chris Redfield and Erin Cahill as Rebecca Chambers.

For its Japanese voice cast, Toshiyuki Morikawa voiced Leon S. Kennedy, Hiroki Touchi for Chris Redfield and Ami Koshimizu as Rebecca Chambers.

All three of the characters return in Resident Evil: Death Island, so it remains to be seen if the voice talent returns with them.
