How to stream Resident Evil Death Island

Resident Evil: Death Island is a new animated movie set in the Resident Evil universe. Here’s when and how to stream it.

Resident Evil has no shortage of animated and live-action adaptations. The latest to be announced is Resident Evil: Death Island, a following the 2017 Resident Evil: Vendetta. This time, the film follows protagonists Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield where their investigation of the zombie outbreak leads them to Alcatraz Island. Resident Evil characters Rebecca Chambers, Claire Redfield and Jill Valentine are also set to return.

According to Capcom, the animated film takes place in 2015, after the events of Resident Evil 6 (set in 2013) and a year after Resident Evil: Vendetta (set in 2014).

The film was announced by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on Feb. 2, 2023, and is set for release later this year on July 7, 2023. Resident Evil: Death Island is directed by Eiichirō Hasumi and written by Makoto Fukami.

Though we’re still a few month off of the movie’s release, fans will need to know how to stream it once it’s made available.

How to stream Resident Evil: Death Island

At the time of writing, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has yet to reveal which streaming services American audiences will be able to catch Resident Evil: Death Island.

The official Resident Evil Japanese Twitter account, known as Biohazard in Japan, revealed a brand new poster for the upcoming movie featuring the cast of iconic Resident Evil characters. The poster revealed the Japanese theatre release date, July 7, but did not specify a global release date.

It is unclear when the movie will be available to stream in the United States.
