New PS5 and PS4 games releasing in April 2023
It’s April 1st today and you know what that means. Yes, it’s officially the worst day to be in the video games industry thanks to it being April Fools’ Day, but it’s also the start of a brand new month which means new games to look forward to.
It’s been a solid start to 2023 for PlayStation with games like Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Hogwarts Legacy, Forspoken, and Destiny 2: Lightfall released on PS5. March saw the launch of both the Resident Evil 4 remake and MLB The Show 23, two vastly different but very solid games.
Looking ahead to April, here are some of the larger releases you can look forward to on PS4 and PS5.
- Meet Your Maker – April 4
- Everspace 2- April 6
- EA Sports PGA Tour – April 7
- Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened – April 11
- The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story – April 18
- Minecraft Legends – April 18
- Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly – April 20
- Dead Island 2 – April 21
- Strayed Lights – April 25
- Afterimage – April 25
- Live A Live – April 27
- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor – April 28
As you can see, there’s quite a mix of games coming our way, and many of them are highly anticipated titles. Meet Your Maker is actually a first-person base-building-and-raiding game set in a post-apocalyptic world and making its debut as a PS Plus title. This means PlayStation Plus members will be able to download and play it for free when it launches on April 4.
The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story is the latest spin-off of Riot Games’ popular MOBA. It’s an action role-playing game in which you play as Sylas trying to liberate Demacia from the tyranny of its Mageseekers. We recently had the chance to check out The Mageseeker at PAX East this past week, so be sure to check out our interview and impressions when posted.
Minecraft Legends is an action strategy spin-off of Mojang’s creative sandbox game. Dead Island 2 is the long-awaited sequel to 2011’s first-person zombie survival game. Fans have been waiting a long time for this game which has been in development hell for quite a while now.
Of all the games on the list, perhaps there is none more anticipated than Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. A sequel to Respawn Entertainment’s 2019 Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, this action adventure picks up five years after the events of the first game. Cal Kestis, now a Jedi Knight, remains on the run from the Galactic Empire. While the core gameplay elements return, there are new features and combat mechanics for players to enjoy.
