Resident Evil 4 Remake: How to get the CQBR Assault Rifle

There’s no shortage of deadly weapons at your disposal in Resident Evil 4 Remake. One, in particular, is the CQBR Assault Rifle.

New to the remake, the CQBR Assault Rifle is the only fully automatic Rifle in the game. Its high rate of fire allows you to rip through enemies, although be prepared to fly through ammunition.

Where to find the CQBR Assault Rifle in Resident Evil 4 Remake

Acquiring the CQBR Assault Rifle in Resident Evil 4 Remake requires a bit of planning as it can only be found during Chapter 10. In order to get it, make sure you pick up the Cubic Device during Chapters 9 and 10.

During Chapter 9, when playing as Ashley, make sure to lower the stairs in the Library. Skipping this step will prevent you from accessing the part of the Library as Leon to get the weapon.

In the Library, you’ll see a gray statue that you can place your lamp on. Doing so will move the bookcase that reveals a secret area with a hand crank. Use the crank to lower the staircase. Ashley will say, “A hidden staircase? Must lead to a secret room or something.”

Return to this area with the hidden staircase when controlling Leon in Chapter 10. You’ll find a puzzle in which you can use the Cubic Device. Insert it, and the door will unlock, rewarding you with the CQBR Assault Rifle.
