As you play through Hogwarts Legacy, you’ll have the ability to learn many fun and exciting abilities while a student of Hogwarts. One of the classes you’ll attend is Herbology, where you’ll learn all about growing plants. In total, there are eight plants that you are able to plant and harvest.

The eight plants will be unlocked throughout the main story with the first plant being available after completing Main Quest 12, “Herbology Class,” and the last plant being available after Main Quest 21, “The Room of Requirement.” Just like in the real world, each plant in Hogwarts Legacy is a different size and will have different potting requirements in order for them to grow. Once you have planted all eight plants, you will unlock the Achievement/Trophy “Put Down Roots.”

  8. Venomous Tentacula Seed

As far as going out on a hunt to find all the plants, it is way simpler than that. After you have completed Main Quest 12, all the plants can be purchased from either The Magic Neep in Hogsmeade or the Dogweed and Deathcap in Hogsmeade. A lot simpler than some of the other items you may be on the hunt for in Hogwarts Legacy.

The reason why you can’t grow all eight of these plants as soon as you complete Main Quest 12 is that you need to unlock The Room of Requirement and Conjuring Spell, which isn’t unlocked until after you beat Main Quest 21, “The Room of Requirement.

Once you are ready to officially start planting all eight of these plants, you are going to want to purchase a Large Potting Table. Even small and medium-sized plants can be planted in the Large Potting Table, which is why I suggest purchasing this large one. This can be purchased from Tomes and Scrolls in Hogsmeade. Once you have a Large Potting Table, make your way to The Room and Requirement and use the conjuring Spell, that you previously unlocked, to place down the Large Potting Table.

At this point, you are ready to start planting whatever your heart desires. It should be noted that each plant can take up to 15 minutes to grow fully in real-time. So, if you plan on knocking all eight plants out at once, it is going to take you roughly 2 hours to complete.

After you are finished planting and harvesting each of the eight plants, the Achievement/Trophy “Put Down Roots” should pop up. You wouldn’t have expected to have such a green thumb in Hogwarts Legacy, but nonetheless, you almost have to.
