Star Wars Jedi: Survivor pre-order: Which Edition should you buy?
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the highly anticipated sequel to Respawn Entertainment’s critically acclaimed action-adventure, is set to release in March. With just a few months until its arrival, fans eager to return to the galaxy far, far away can already pre-order the game.
There are currently two Editions of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor available for pre-order. There’s the Standard Edition and the Deluxe Edition. If you’re unsure of which one to purchase, here’s what’s offered with both.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Pre-order Bonus
Pre-ordering either Edition of the game will net you the “Jedi Survival” Cosmetic Pack for free. This includes three cosmetic pieces inspired by Obi-Wan Kenobi including the following:
As these are cosmetics, they’ll have zero influence on the strength of your character, but seeing Cal Kestis dressed as the iconic Jedi could boost your confidence and make you feel stronger.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Standard Edition
Available for $69.99, or $62.99 with EA Play’s 10% discount, the Standard Edition includes only the pre-order bonus and the base game.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Deluxe Edition
The Deluxe Edition costs $89.99, or $80.99 with the EA Play discount. For the extra $20, you’ll get two additional cosmetic packs: The “New hero” Cosmetic Pack and the “Galactic Hero” Cosmetic Pack. These are exclusive cosmetic items inspired by some of the galaxy’s greatest heroes.
The “Scoundrel” Cosmetic,” for instance, dressed Cal to look like Han Solo, complete with vest and holster. The “Rebel Hero” Cosmetic features the sexy gold jacket worn by Luke during the Yavin Ceremony at the end of Episode IV. There’s also the “DL-44″ Blaster Set which turns Cal’s blaster into the one used by Han Solo and the “BD Astro” BD-1 Cosmetic that changes your droids armor to resemble R2-D2. There are a couple of additional cosmetics included as well.
Which Edition of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor should you buy?
The answer to this question all depends on how important cosmetics are to you. If the Deluxe Edition included access to some sort of DLC or post-launch plans, then I’d be more apt to get it. For me, cosmetic skins don’t really improve the experience of a game for me, so I’d probably lean toward the Standard Edition.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor releases on March 17, 2023. It will be available for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
