If you are as competitive as I am, you’ll be happy to know that Ranked Play is coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Ranked Play is a way for gamers to show off their competitive side and skill as they play matches and climb the varoius Skill Divisions.

While many gamers have been wondering when, or if, Ranked Play would be coming to this year’s game, Treyarch confirmed that Ranked Play would indeed be coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in 2023.

On Twitter, Treyarch confirmed that with Ranked Play will also come new competitive modes, ranked skill divisions, visible skill ratings, top 250 leaderboard, and competitive rewards all within the Ranked Play game mode. We don’t know exactly when in 2023 Ranked Play will drop, but we do know it can happen at any time after the first of the year. We also know that Treyarch will be keeping us updated with even more details as they get closer to releasing Ranked Play to the community.

It is safe to assume that how well you perform in Ranked Play will determine what Skill Division you will be a part of. The better you compete and do during Ranked Play, the higher your Skill Division and the higher up on the leaderboard you will climb. Obviously, this is what we are kind of expecting it to be like, but Treyarch may have some surprises in store for us.

Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will kick off on November 16. Part of Season 1 will be a CDL Moshpit Playlist. This Playlist will be the closest you are going to get to competitive Ranked Play. You can use the CDL Moshpit Playlist as a way to prepare and practice before Ranked Play goes live.

On the other hand, you can always play Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War League Play and Call of Duty: Vanguard Ranked Play, but Treyarch warned that these game modes would be retired and removed permanently on November 22.

The Call of Duty franchise has always been one of the most competitive video game franchises and all time and it is going to get a whole lot more competitive in 2023 when Ranked Play rolls around.
