Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been out for a few days now. If you’re like me, you’re probably working towards unlocking all the different weapons, camo and Operators.

There are a total of 25 Operators for you to unlock at launch. Each one has a slightly different requirement to unlock. Some are as simple as beating a campaign mode mission, while others require you to perform a task within Multiplayer, such as getting five assists in a single Multiplayer match.

However, there are four Operators in the game that you can’t unlock, no matter what you do: Price, Farah, Ghost and Soap. There are no in-game challenges associated with them, so how do you unlock them?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: How to unlock Price, Farah, Ghost and Soap Operators?

Unfortunately, the only way to unlock these four beloved characters as Price, Farah, Soap and Ghost Operators playable Operators in multiplayer is to spend money. As confirmed by Activision in a blog postPrice, Farah, Soap and Ghost Operators are only available via the Vault Edition’s Red Team 141 pack.

There are only two versions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 currently available. The Cross-Gen Bundle for $69.99 was the cheapest and only included the game itself. The Vault Edition was the more expensive version at $99.99 but came with a bunch of digital bonuses such as the Red Team 141 Operator Pack.

So in order to unlock Ghost, Farah, Price and Soap as Operators in multiplayer, you’d have to spend $99.99, or $30 more than the game’s basic price. That seems pretty expensive just to unlock a few playable characters. And it seems kind of crappy that they would lock Operators behind a paywall from the start.

It’d be one thing if Price, Farah, Soap or Ghost were DLC characters. But they are in the game at launch. Spending $69.99 should include all the Operators.

Now it’s worth pointing out that Operators don’t provide any gameplay advantage. They are purely cosmetic, so not having access to Price, Farah, Soap or Ghost at launch doesn’t mean you’re at a competitive disadvantage in multiplayer.

It’s also worth noting that the Red Team 141 Operator Pack is these four Operators wearing a special masked outfit and themed around Ghost. So it’s possible that these Operators could receive base versions, without their special Red Team 141-themed outfits, that you can unlock either through a Battle Pass or Store bundle.
