Walmart Black Friday Deals for Days returns starting November 7

Target kicked off its Black Friday sale earlier than ever and jump-started the holiday shopping season with all sorts of discounts. Walmart isn’t quite ready to begin with its own holiday discounts yet but did announce that its “Black Friday Deals for Days” event will be returning.

Introduced last year, Walmart’s Black Friday Deals for Days is essentially a month-long savings event. Rather than one day of big discounts, Walmart will be spreading it out over the month of November.

Walmart’s Black Friday Deals for Days will begin on November 7th and run through Cyber Monday on November 28th. Deals will begin online first with Walmart+ members getting early access first. Then that week’s deals will be offered in stores a few days later.

Walmart Black Friday Deals for Days 2022 schedule

  • Event 1 (Deals begin online Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. ET and continue in stores Nov. 9)
    • Walmart+ Early Access runs 12 p.m. ET – 7 p.m. ET on Mon., Nov. 7.
  • Event 2 (Deals begin online Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. ET and continue in stores Nov. 16)
    • Walmart+ Early Access runs 12 p.m. ET – 7 p.m. ET on Mon., Nov. 14.
  • Event 3 (Deals begin online Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. ET and continue in stores Nov. 25)
    • Walmart+ Early Access runs 12 p.m. ET – 7 p.m. ET on Mon., Nov. 21.
  • Cyber Monday (Nov. 28): Cyber Monday event to close out 2022 Black Friday Deals for Days

Last year, each week had its own specific set of discounts. For example, the first weekend could focus on toys, electronics and home products while the second weekend could focus on something else entirely.

Walmart didn’t get into specifics for this year, but did promise big savings and deep discounts “across electronics, home, toys and apparel.” There was no specific mention of video games, but we can expect the usual discounts on select Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo titles.

As far as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles, I probably wouldn’t expect any major discounts. Both consoles are still in very high demand and suffering from global shortages. Now Walmart did say it has prepared for months to ensure strong inventory throughout November, but I expect the consoles to sell out quickly.

Because of that, I would recommend getting that Walmart+ membership. While this won’t guarantee you get a console, it does give you the best chance as you’ll have early access to all the sales before the general public. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Walmart offer first dibs of its Xbox Series X and PS5 console inventory to Walmart+ members as a way to encourage people to sign up. If you do decide to sign up, Walmart+ is $98 for the year or $12.95 for the month.

Walmart made no mention of a price match guarantee which would ensure you receive any additional savings if the price is lowered later in the season. This could simply mean that the discounted price first introduced during the event is the lowest it will be of the season. It’s also unclear if a discounted item during the first event will remain discounted for the remainder of the events or if it’s a FOMO type thing and once you miss it, it’ll be gone forever.
