New PS5 and PS4 games releasing in October 2022

Sony gave us a head start on spooky season with the release of The Last of Us Part 1 last month, but now as we turn the calendar page, what sort of horrific games do we have coming to the PS5 and PS4 during October?

Well, not much, to be honest. There’s Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, an asymmetric multiplayer game in which three players suit up as the Ghostbusters and try to stop a spooky ghost, played by another player, from completing its haunting objectives.

If you’re looking for a bit more horrific action, October also sees the release of Resident Evil RE:Verse. This six-player online multiplayer game was originally supposed to launch alongside Resident Evil Village but was delayed multiple times. It finally makes its debut later in October.

The month is filled with quite a few AAA blockbusters. From Overwatch 2 to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, there’s no shortage of competitive shooters coming our way. If you’re more of a sports fan, specifically hockey or golf, we’ve got NHL 23 and PGA Tour 2K23. And if you’re looking for just straight-up action, we’ve got No More Heroes III and Gotham Knights.
