PS Plus: Free PS5 and PS4 games for October 2022 revealed
Sony has revealed the next batch of free PS Plus games coming to PS5 and PS4 and despite October being the month of Halloween, there’s not one spooky game featured in the lineup. That’s not to say there aren’t some good games coming our way though.
We’ve got an incredibly fun racer in Hotwheels Unleashed, one of the best super hero fighters in Injustice 2 and a clever first-person shooter in Superhot. All three games will be available to PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra and Premium starting on October 4. Here’s a bit more about each game.
Hot Wheels Unleashed | PS4, PS5
Hot Wheels Unleashed offers big thrills in tiny cars. Inspired by the beloved toy line, this arcade sim not only offers fast-paced racing excitement, but also lets you push your creativity to the limit with the ability to build your very own course using an in-depth track editor.
In our review, we praised Hot Wheels Unleashed for its ability to capture everything we used to pretend Hot Wheels were when we played with them as children.
Injustice 2 | PS4
Injustice 2 is the super-powered sequel to the hit fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us. Return to the DC universe and battle with twisted versions of iconic heroes and supervillains in a surprisingly fun and intriguing campaign. Developed by NetherRealm Studios, the creators of Mortal Kombat, the gameplay in Injustice 2 feels largely the same as its predecessor albeit with some minor adjustments and improvements. If you’re a DC fan and into fighting games, this is definitely one you’re going to want to check out when it comes to PS Plus.
Superhot | PS4
Of the three games coming to PS Plus in October, Superhot is probably the least well-known but not because it lacks innovative gameplay. Superhot is a first-person shooter but with a unique twist — time moves only when you move. Your goal is to blast through various stages and eliminate the enemies by any means necessary. I actually never had a chance to play Superhot but the game was featured on our list of 50 best games from back in 2017.
All three of these games are available for all PS Plus members from October 4 through October 31. Additional games for the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Game Catalog lineup for October will be announced later this month. As a reminder, you also have until October 3rd to add Need for Speed Heat, Granblue Fantasy: Versus and Toem to your game library.
