Yesterday’s Nintendo Direct showcased a slew of games remastered and new. Nintendo also announced a lot of updates coming to already released Nintendo Switch games. Here are some of the highlights.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3

While the game hasn’t been out all that long yet, the second wave of the season pass is already en route. Dropping October 13th, this season pass not only adds a lot more end-game content but also new characters and story including an adorable robot girl.

In addition the game will also feature a new Challenge mode which looks to feature ridiculously difficult battles one after the other. Also, the ability to unlock revealing swimsuits because what would Xenoblade be without you feeling kinda gross sometimes.

Splatoon 3

Nintendo announced that Splatoon 3 is finally going to be getting its first Splatfest, which will run from September 23-25.

The question you’ll be answering to pick your team is “What would you bring to a deserted island?” Gear, grub, or fun?

If you noticed three answers, that’s because Splatoon 3’s new Splatfest allow for three teams. Every so often, the players of the team in the lead might find themselves in a game in which four of them are put in the middle of a map with two people from one team on one side and two from the third team on the other, forced to defend themselves.

In addition to the Splatfest, there will also be updates in the near future that add plenty of new clothing to the game.

Nintendo 64 Service

The Nintendo 64 service is finally getting a ton of new games, though, the exact date for these has not been revealed and I promise you it won’t be all at once. The games shown are:

  • Pilotwings 64
  • Mario Party 1, 2, and 3
  • Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2
  • 1080˚ Snowboarding
  • Excitebike 64
  • Goldeneye

Goldeneye is probably the biggest mention on this list, especially with the fact they announced the game will have online multiplayer added so this way you can be a coward and play as Oddjob with the knowledge that no one can yell at you because Nintendo will never add voice chat.

Mario Strikers: Battle League

The second free update for Mario Strikers is FINALLY coming out. In it, the update will include two new characters. The powerful Pauline and the speedy Diddy Kong. In addition, this update will also add a slew of new armor options as well as a new stadium.

Mario Kart

The third wave of the Mario Kart season pass will finally hit this holiday season. While not a lot was talked about they did show two of the eight tracks the two new Cups will provide. Merry Mountain from Mario Kart Tour. Enjoy a festive holiday track all year round to give you and your friends gift buying flashbacks as your tour the wintery mountainside. Peach Gardens from Mario Kart DS. This was honestly a cool stage. Navigate bizarrely arranged gardens as you tear your way around the castle lot.

Next. Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (aka Breath of the Wild 2) release date confirmed. dark

Nintendo Switch Sports

The bizarrely named sports game has got a free update on the way. This holiday season, popping in Nintendo Switch Sports will allow you to play golf.

While the mode looks a little lackluster, especially considering that the majority of the courses are from Wii Sports, it does allow for up to 8-player multiplayer so that could be pretty cool this holiday when that happens.
