Madden 23 Week 1 Roster Update releasing today
The eagerly awaited Week 1 roster update for Madden 23 will release today, according to ratings adjustor Dustin Smith.
Although he didn’t give a specific window, we expect it to come sometime soon, likely before the kickoff of tonight’s NFL season opener between the Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills.
The NFL season kicks off tonight at 8:20 p.m. ET. Smith has only said it’s due out in the “early evening.”
The Week 1 roster update will feature the latest rosters of all 32 teams across the league. Once it hits, the rosters in Madden 23 will be reflective of the full 53-man rosters in real life.
For those of you who have started your Franchise game mode, you’ll need to restart if you want to apply the latest rosters. There’s no way to update the rosters once you’ve started your Franchise game mode. That being said, aside from blockbuster trades or surprise cuts, the rosters you began your Franchise with likely shouldn’t be too far off from what we see in this update.
There have been thousands of roster moves around the league since Madden 23 went through, including new signings, cuts and trades. Many of these will be reflected once the update lands.
Some notable transactions include the trade of Jalen Reagor from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Minnesota Vikings. It’s unclear if Jason Peters will be added to the Dallas Cowboys with this update as the left tackle was only recently signed by the team a few days ago.
Earlier today, EA released the September Title Update for Madden 23. The update addressed numerous bugs and other issues based on community feedback, including quarterback regression in Franchise mode, run and pass blocking and much more.
Madden 23 launched last month and has received mixed reviews, mostly due to the many bugs. Hopefully following today’s update, these issues are addressed.
