With the release of Temtem in just a few days, developer Crema has shared a new trailer offering beginner’s tips and tricks for when you arrive in the Airborne Archipelago. For those unfamiliar with the game, Temtem is a massively multiplayer creature-collection adventure (heavily inspired by Pokemon).

As you explore the beautiful and dynamic Airborne Archipelago, you’ll catch Temtem creatures, battle other tamers, customize your house, etc. But before we jump into all of that, here are a few of the basics you’ll want to know.

Temtem combat basics

To become the best tamer, you must beat the best tamers. To do so, you’ll need to know all about the various Tems you’ll come across along with all the combat mechanics.

As the video explains, performing attacks and abilities in battle requires stamina, so you’ll want to carefully manage those levels. Being aware of things like status conditions in effect, other Tems’ gear, and what items you have in your backpack will help provide you a competitive advantage. While in combat, you are also able to switch out your Tems if needed.

Adventuring with friends

Temtem is a massively multiplayer online game. And while you can certainly play solo, it’s probably more fun to adventure with others. The entire campaign can be played in co-op mode with communication done through chat and emotes. There’s also a friends list to trade, inspect, spectate and join battles with Tamers.

Clubs are essentially guilds within Temtem. These come with your own Club name, logo and private chat. If your Club is filled with competitive players, you’ll be able to join the Dojo Wars — a large scale player versus player activity — and battle for control over a Dojo.

Lumas

Lumas are sparkly rare version of Tems with powerful stats. There are certain things you can do to increase your chances of finding one.

You’ll want to begin by visiting Saipark on Deniz Island, which features  two different Tems each week, alternating between the opportunity for increased stats and Luma chances.

In the end game, you can participate in battles in Digilair on Tamer’s Island. If you win, you’l receive eggs for the Temtem of your choice with significantly increased Luma odds.

There’s certainly a lot to learn with Temtem and I’m sure the game will be filled with all sorts of unique, fun surprises. While the tips in the video above will get you started, there will be much to master once you dive deep into the world of Temtem. Temtem is set to release on September 6 for Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.
