TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is out now and is absolutely incredible. And while we’re still waiting on news for potential DLC (of which I have a few ideas) there was one character right out the gate that most people might notice is missing: Casey Jones.

Raph, Mikey, Leo, Don, Splinter, and April O’ Neil are all available at the jump but we saw Casey Jones gameplay. We know he’s here so where is he? It turns out you’ve got to beat the game once to unlock him. But considering that this game is an absolute joy to play that really shouldn’t be considered an issue.

You’ve just got to get through the game’s 16 levels, which might take you an hour to two hours depending on your difficulty. At the end, you’ll get a nice little screen letting you know that you unlocked the patron knight of Dick’s Sporting Goods, Casey Jones.

He’s an absolute blast to play with both good range and power. I was excited too because, as Casey Jones was a Wolverine-style fan favorite of the franchise, it was incredibly rare to find Casey Jones playable in a video game and NEVER in an arcade title so this is something us TMNT heads have been waiting decades for.

Also, with how drastically different he looks from the other characters, he’s great for multiplayer so you don’t have to worry about your character getting lost in a shell game when standing with the other players as is sometimes something that can happen with these games when a lot of characters are on screen.

Time will tell if we get more characters in the game, but with four turtles, April, Splinter, and now, Casey Jones, there’s more than enough replay value. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is out now on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC.
