The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 delayed until 2023
There has already been one major video game delayed from 2022 to 2023 this year and another one is going to be added to that list. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, perhaps one of the most anticipated upcoming video games for 2022, has been delayed until 2023. This is heartbreaking news for Zelda fans, but the additional time Nintendo is taking on this project will hopefully result in a better overall exerience.
Nintendo released a video showcasing Eiji Aonuma, the Series Producer of The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2, stating that he is sorry for the Spring 2023 delay. Aonuma stated, “For those of you who have been looking forward to a release this year, we apologize.” Aonuma also goes on to say, “In order to make this game’s experience something special, the entire development team is working diligently on this game, so please wait a while longer.”
Nintendo has a lot of pressure with releasing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, especially with how successful the first game was. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was both a critical and commercial success, and regarded by many as one of the best open world experiences of all time. So you can understand why Nintendo might delay the release of the sequel to make sure everything is correct.
Eiji Aonuma never officially stated as to what the real reasons as to why The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 was delayed till Spring 2023, but we can safely assume it is to make sure it lives up to all of the hype.
There’s still a ton of mystery surrounding The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. We’ve only seen a few teasers and trailers to date.
I tend to believe that when a video game is delayed, it can only help out the video game more than it can hurt it. More time can mean there is more time to perfect everything as best as possible. However, more time also puts more pressure on Nintendo because if something is wrong with the game, they will take lots of heat for having additional time to work on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 and not being able to get it right.

It is a huge announcement nonetheless and this only means that the great anticipation is only going to get even greater. Spring 2023 is the new target release for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 and much like many other gamers, I cannot wait to get my hands on this highly anticipated sequel.
