Pokemon Legends Arceus guide: Every Unown location and reward

Fairly early in Pokemon Legends Arceus, you have a moment where you encounter a cutscene in which Unown-A latches to your back. From that moment on if you go to your Pokedex and hit Y you’ll get a special page in which there lay a spot for all 28 Unown and hints on where to find each of them.

Well, this walkthrough is gonna be simple. We’re going to just straight up explain where each one is. Or at least give you an idea of where to look.

Most of the time they’re fairly simple. For example, when looking at the clue for Unown-B it says “Turn your eyes up at the volcanic island.” Well, there’s only one volcano island and only one thin path to get right up to it. So go there and do this:

So we’re gonna go into each one. What the hints are if you’re having a hard time reading Unown and show you about where on the map you need to be looking. I get it, sometimes you wouldn’t even think these creatures are hiding deep mysterious secrets.

So let’s get into it. And afterwards, if you’re good, I’ll tell you what happens when you catch them all so you can figure out if this is worth your time or not.

Where the Wild Unowns Are

  • Unown-A
    • Research Hint: “WITHIN THE SETTLEMENT WHERE TIME RULES”
    • My Hint: “Settlement where times rules”? Come on man, that’s the Diamond Settlement in the Crimson Mirelands. You’ll find A on the back of one of the tents.

    • Research Hint: “TURN YOUR EYES UP AT THE VOLCANIC ISLAND”
    • My Hint: Did you not read my intro? It’s on Firespit Island in the Cobalt Coastlands. There’s a small path at the top of the mountain that goes right up to the volcano. B’s up high there.

    • Research Hint: “LOOK TO THE RUINED PILLARS OF CELESTICA”
    • My Hint: No joke, I only found this one because I was screwing around, fell from a high point, and saw it watching my failure from afar. You can find this one sitting on top of a pillar where it only wants to “C” me fall.

    • Research Hint: “AMONG STUMPS AND CAMPFIRE ASHES IN FIELDS OF GOLD”
    • My Hint: Remember where you found the Miss Fortune gang hiding out in the Golden Lowlands within the Crimson Mirelands? Well you’ll find D sitting on a stump just chilling.

    • Research Hint: “A LONE TREE IN A POND IN THE GROVE”
    • My Hint: There’s a small island in the middle of the Grueling Grove in the Obsidian Fieldlands. On that island is a little tree and hiding about halfway up is E.

    • Research Hint: “A STONY OUTCROP OVER POLLS OF MUD ON A MIGHTY MOUNTAIN”
    • My Hint: F this guy because it took me way to long to spot him because I kept getting attacked by the alpha Goodra that’s near it. Anywho, in the Coronet Highlands you’ll find it clinging to a strange rock cluster at the very top overlooking the mud pits.

    • Research Hint: “ATOP A WATERFALL OF OBSIDIAN”
    • My Hint: This one’s fairly easy if the real Gs who know the names of the locations. In the Obsidian Fieldlands there’s a place called Obsidian Falls. It’s at the top of that stuck to a rocky structure.

    • Research Hint: “A VILLAGE GATEWAY”
    • My Hint: This one is as easy as coming up with an H pun is hard. He’s on the sign at the beach gate welcoming people to Jubilife City.

    • Research Hint: “THE LAKE ISLAND WHERE EMOTION RESIDES”
    • My Hint: Another simple one. In the Obsidian Fieldlands you want to return to Lake Verity and go behind the cave. Keep your I open and you can’t miss it.

    • Research Hint: “A NOOK WITHIN A QUARRY”
    • My Hint: This one is a little tricky. It’s near the ceiling inside that weird cubed out Ancient Quarry in the Coronet Highlands. Just be careful J-walking through as it’s filled with Bronzongs.

    • Research Hint: “WHERE STONES PILE HIGH AMID FOGBOUND RUINS”
    • My Hint: Head over to the Shrouded Ruins in the Crimson Mirelands and as long as you keep an eye out for a large stack of stones, you should be perfect K finding it near the top of the stack.

    • Research Hint: “AN IMPASSE IN A CAVE ADORNED BY TWIN FALLS”
    • My Hint: In the Coronet Highlands, visit the Wayward Cave and find a dead end. It shoudl be there near some ore. Just be mindful of the agro Pokemon near by so you don’t take the wrong L.

    • Research Hint: “A TREE FELLED ON SLUDGE”
    • My Hint: Mmm, sludge. You can find this little guy hiding in a log near the spot where you fought the Noble Ursaluna.

    • Research Hint: “TWO HORNS RISING FROM THE SEA”
    • My Hint: Heading to the Cobalt Coastland and jumping high behind the two horns at the end of Sand’s Reach and snagging the Unown clinging to the back of one will have you feeling like Captain N the Game Master. (I regret commiting to these puns)

    • Research Hint: “THREE PILLARS IN A WORLD OF ICE”
    • My Hint: Finally, one in the Alabaster Icelands! Head over to the Icebound Falls and look for a cave. Inside it are several ice pillars and behind one, near the top will make you say O-my when you find Unown there. (Oh my god I’m getting so tired)

    • Research Hint: “AMONG FLOWERS AT THE SPRING WHERE FAIRIES DWELL”
    • My Hint: You might wanna take a P break before this one cause it took me a while. Head over to the Fabled Spring in the Coronet Highlands and look for a patch of flowers where my marker is and you’ll see it peeking out from the flowers. It’s one of the only ones I found that’s just on the ground.

    • Research Hint: “TWIN TREES AT THE SPRING BY THE SEA”
    • My Hint: Next up in the Q you’re going to want to head to the Cobalt Coastlands and to the Turnback Cave. There’s two trees near by with Unown clinging to the midsection of one of them.

    • Research Hint: “BY THE GRAVE UPON THE CAPE”
    • My Hint: R you serious? I wouldn’t have even known that was a grave if not for this hint. Head over to the Cobalt Coastlands and right at the top of the cliffs before Lunker’s Lair you’ll find this on the cliff near the rocks that I guess are a grave.

    • Research Hint: “WHERE STICK AND LOG DAM THE RIVER”
    • My Hint: I dropped the S-word when I realized how easy this one was despite it being one of the last I found. It’s literally sticking to the Bidoof Dam better known as the Tidewater Dam in the Obsidian Fieldlands.

    • Research Hint: “GAZE DOWN FROM ATOP THE GREATEST GLACIAL LEGACY”
    • My Hint: Luckily, there’s a place in the Alabaster Icelands that fits this clue to a T! Head over to Avalugg’s Legacy and find it on top of one of the smaller ice pillars.

    • Research Hint: “THE UNUSUAL STONE STARING OUT ACROSS THE SNOWFIELDS”
    • My Hint: If we’re going to talk about unusual stones U bet I’m going to check out the back of the stone sitting atop the twin falls at Heart’s Crag in the Alabaster Icelands.

    • Research Hint: “A WITHERED TREE IN THE SPRAWLING RED SWAMP”
    • My Hint: This one’s V easy (for you Brits out there). By “red swamp” they mean the Scarlet Bog in the Crimson Mirelands. You’ll find it dangling on a dead tree branch.

    • Research Hint: “THE LEFT EYE ATOP THE VILLAGE”
    • My Hint: Sorry, they’re not talking about TLC. Instead, to get the W here, you’re going to head to the top of the Galaxy Hall (there’s a door in Kamado’s office) and look at the eyes of the Magikarp statues.

    • Research Hint: “SCALE THE GRANDTREE”
    • My Hint: Head back to the Grandtree Arena where you fought your first noble in the Obsidian Fieldlands. Climb it and look at a few branches to figure out where X marks the spot.

    • My Hint: Oh Y did I decide on these dumb puns. Anyways, for this one head to the Alabaster Icelands and look for the Icebound Falls. It’s hanging out on one of the frozen bluffs.

    • My Hint: Okay, this one you should know automatically. It’s on the main mast on the ship at Deadwood Haunt in the Cobalt Coastlands. Oh, my time with these puns are over. Finally I can rest…zzZZZ

    • My Hint: Ah!!! I forgot about the punctuation guys! Okay so back in Icebound Falls there’s a place called the Snowfall Hot Springs. Head there and look for it hanging from one of the branches.

    • My Hint: Is this the last one? Yup, it’s also the first one I found. Behind the house I marked on the map you can find it hanging out on the clothes line.

What now?

Well, now that you have them all, what do you do? Well, have you ever seen a contest at a restaurant being free food from that restaurant? It’s like that. Once you’ve found them all head to the Solaceon Ruins where you first met Unown-A. You’ll find that a slew of wild Unown are all hanging out there. You can check here as often as you like, you can even find alpha and shiny Unown here!
