Pokemon Legends Arceus: ‘The Plate of Firespit Island’ mission walkthrough

This is a guide for the Pokemon Legends Arceus mission “The Plate of Firespit Island.”  For this one, we’re going to be heading out to the volcano. Upon arriving at Cobalt Coastlands, you’re met by Palina and Irida. Palina is hyped because the uniting of the clans means she doesn’t have to keep her relationship with Iscan a secret anymore.

She lets you know that, once again, strange things are afoot at the Circle K, I mean Firespit Island. A place that sounds like where I might drop my next mix tape.

Head over to Firespit Island and into the cave on the volcano where Iscan and Irida are waiting for you. Iscan invites you to come with him into the cavern. I’m just going to put it out there, if you got a Pokemon with a strong water move…get it out cause…well…

Once you get in, you find yourself face to face with Heatran whom you have to catch like a regular Pokemon only with a slight twist. Heatran has a shield up that deflects Pokeballs and Pokemon alike. What you need to do first is run around the cave and pick up a bunch of the mud balls that line the place. Throw enough at it and the shield will break allowing you to catch it.

Upon defeat, Heatran leaves behind the Iron Plate.

Afterward there’s a little bit of story involving the rivalry between Palina and Irida as opposed to what I expected which was, “WHAT WAS THAT GIANT FIRE STEEL POKEMON WE JUST SAW”. But that’s fine.

Now that you’ve caught Heatran and a new plate, head on back to Jubilife where there’s a Heatran themed fancy kimono waiting for you.
