Before we break for the extended holiday weekend, Sony has announced something for PlayStation Plus fans to look forward to — next month’s lineup of free games. Although January’s PS Plus lineup had been leaked previously, Sony has officially confirmed the three free games we will be getting. And they are damn good.

On January 4, 2022, we’ll be able to download all three games, which have been confirmed to be Persona 5 Strikers, Dirt 5 and Deep Rock Galactic.

Persona 5 Strikers is probably the highlight of the batch. A sequel to 2016/17’s critically acclaimed Persona 5, we catch up with the Phantom Thieves as they embark on an epic summer vacation road trip across Japan. Make your way through six different cities, fighting back the Shadows to uncover the source of the corruption.

Persona 5 Strikers is unique in that in utilizes a hybrid battle system that combines the hack-and-slash action-combat of Koei Tecmo’s Dynasty Warriors franchise with the strategic turn-based RPG mechanics of Atlus’ Persona franchise. How does it all work? Check out our review for the game when it first released. Persona 5 Strikers is technically listed as a PlayStation 4 game although it is playable on PS5.

Deep Rock Galactic is a little bit less of a serious storytelling game, although it’s certainly not lacking some action-packed gameplay. Previously released on Xbox and PC, Deep Rock Galactic makes its PlayStation debut via PS Plus. This is a co-op sci-fi shooter in which you’ll explore procedurally generated cave systems on hostile alien planets. Deep Rock Galactic will be available on PS4 and PS5.

The third and final game in January 2022’s PS Plus lineup is Dirt 5, an off-road racing game with stunning environments and an iconic roster of cars. Dirt 5 features four-player split-screen and online multiplayer, a Career and Playgrounds creator mode and more than 70 routes that take you across 10 iconic global locations.

All three games will be available to download for PS Plus members on January 4. That means you have until Monday, January 3 to download December’s PlayStation Plus titles.
