Diablo Immortal closed beta begins today: Here’s how to get in
With Diablo Immortal on track to launch in the first half of 2022, Blizzard has begun the next phase of testing, starting today with a closed beta. For those who are interested in the free-to-play mobile take on the classic action-RPG franchise, it’s not too late to get into the closed beta; however, there are some restrictions.
For starters, the closed beta is only available for Android users, and only those who reside in Canada, Australia, South Korea, Japan, and China. It’s possible it could expand to new regions in the coming weeks, but for now that’s all. The good news is that if you are in one of those regions, there’s a good chance you can get in as they will be accepting “tens of thousands of participants.”
If you are interested in signing up, all you have to do is register on the Diablo Immortal home page here. Here are the minimum requirements for playing on an Android device:
- CPU – Snapdragon 670 / Exynos 8895 and higher
- GPU – Adreno 615 / Mali-G71 MP20 and higher
- RAM – 2GB of RAM and higher
- Version – Android OS 5.0 (Lollipop) and higher
You’ll be notified of your invitation to the closed beta from Google Play with details on how you can login. The servers for Canada and Australia will open at 5:00 p.m. PT with servers in Korea, Japan, and China opening in the coming weeks with a test build available in the local languages. The exact end of the closed beta has not been announced, but it sounds like you’ll get to spend a few weeks with the game.
As for the contents of the closed beta, players can look forward to The Necromancer as a playable class, enhancements to The Cycle of Strife (the faction-based PvP & PvE system), ladders added to the 8v8 Battleground PvP system, new end-game gear, set items and more.
Additionally, an early preview of controller support is now functional; however, not everything is supported. UI menus for inventory, skills, codex and vendors are not supported so you’ll still need to use the touchscreen to navigate these. And, not all controllers are currently supported. The ones that are supported for the closed beta are:
- Xbox One Wireless Bluetooth Controller
- Xbox Series X|S Bluetooth Controller
- Xbox Elite Controller Series 2
- Xbox Adaptive Controller
- Sony Dualshock 4
- Razer Kishi
Diablo Immortal was supposed to launch this year, but will now be available in the first half of 2022.
