EA and ESPN kicked off today’s ratings reveal by announcing Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald as the second member in Madden 22’s 99 Club. That jump started the reveal of the top defensive linemen in the game.

As a reminder, the players revealed in this list are simply the ten best-rated players in the game at launch. EA releases weekly roster updates that change ratings depending on how players perform in real life. But for now, here’s a look at the best defensive linemen (Defensive Tackles and Ends) in Madden 22 when it releases this August.

  1. Aaron Donald, RE (Los Angeles Rams) – 99 overall
  2. Fletcher Cox, DT (Philadelphia Eagles) – 94 overall
  3. Chris Jones, DT (Kansas City Chiefs) – 92 overall
  4. DeForest Buckner, DT (Indianapolis Colts) – 92 overall
  5. Cameron Heyward, RE (Pittsburgh Steelers) – 92 overall
  6. Michael Pierce, DT (Minnesota Vikings) – 91 overall
  7. Calais Campbell, RE (Baltimore Ravens) – 90 overall
  8. Kenny Clark , DT (Green Bay Packers) – 89 Overall
  9. Stephon Tuitt, LE (Pittsburgh Steelers) – 89 overall
  10. Vita Vea, DT (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) – 88 overall

As you can see, it’s quite a drop off form Aaron Donald to the rest of the pack, who otherwise all appear to be fairly even. Just looking at this list, it looks like the Pittsburgh Steelers will have a formidable defensive line.

In addition to revealing the ratings, EA also shared the top strength and power move ratings for defensive line. Donald, of course, leads the pack with a 99 rating in both. Fletcher Cox and Vita Vea also appear in both lists twice.
