As someone who has enjoyed the many amazing franchises, Nintendo has to offer you can guess I have high hopes of what will be seen at this year’s Direct. Zelda’s 35th anniversary, a few great Wii U ports, and of course, seeing some gameplay for announced stuff would really bring this presentation together. So, without further delay let’s dive in and give some predictions!

Xenoblade Chronicles X

I know I’m starting with a  Wii U port, but with the rise in hype around Xenoblade chronicles after two’s release now feels like high time to get this back in people’s hands. This included the typical Xenoblade combat, but you’re a space-faring group of soldiers and play as a generic create-a-character but you can pilot a mech suit which is always welcome.

The Legend of Zelda Windwaker and Twilight Princess HD

Alright, hear me out, these 2 amazing games but on your Switch. Take link on his cartoony sea-faring adventure, or jump in as wolf Link to chomp some monsters and save the realm of Hyrule from the evil Ganon, but on the go. If they gave me a higher resolution for these I’d lose it, we’re probably going to see more skyward sword, so come on Nintendo let’s make sure Zelda gets as much love as Mario. I would adore a 4 pack of games with Windwaker, Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time, and Majora’s Mask. The only thing that would top that is Ocarina of Time HD but that’s a pipedream.

Pokemon Gameplay

This fall brings us Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl as Switch releases, I can’t be alone in wanting to see more gameplay to determine if it was a good move for them to go the way they have with them graphically. Much more importantly, I want to see gameplay for Arceus. This game got my attention right away with the short teaser we got, so it’s high time to see what that would look like to play, what the story looks like, and let’s see some more Pokemon so we can get excited about catching them.

Splatoon 3

This one is short but sweet, come on Nintendo give us a real campaign for Splatoon 3, we want real cutscenes and real care shown for this. New multiplayer maps and more squirt guns will be awesome, more variants would be beyond that but, we want a bigger campaign.

Gameboy Collection

So, my colleague championed a GBA collection and I want to take that a step further. There are some amazing games from even the original Gameboy and the Gameboy color while using the joycon, you could potentially hold it vertically with a single joycon and play the old school way depending if the joycon would hold the weight. Games like Golden Sun, Mario Land, Mario and Luigi’s superstar saga, Metroid 2, Revelations: The Demon Slayer, or Dragon Ball Z Legendary Super Warriors, this list could continue forever.
