Genshin Impact’s first Inazuma character, Kazuha, is finally here. While we can’t make it Inazuma yet, the highly anticipated Anemo samurai will be featured in the second banner in 1.6.

We knew about Kazuha for a while, but with his official release we learned more about his story. Kaedahara Kazuha is a fugitive, wanted by the Inazuma Bakufu and is hiding out on Beidou’s ship as a mysterious member of the Crux. My theory is that Kazuha escaped the mass Vision gathering that Zhongli talked about in the Archon Quest.

Genshin Impact: Kazuha first look and build impressions

As for gameplay, Kazuha is a sword wielding Anemo user with a focus on reactions. According to beta information from Honey Impact, he gains a bonus to Elemental Mastery as he ascends. His skillset also plays into this, as both of his attacks deal extra damage on their second hit after Swirling an element.

Kazuha’s Elemental Skill, Chihayaburu, sucks in enemies and launches him into the air, like Venti. Holding it increases the range, and using a plunging attack after this infuses it with Anemo as the Midareranzan attack.

His Burst, Kazuha Slash, creates a huge Anemo AoE slash that leaves behind the Autumn Whirlwind. This is a field that deals Anemo damage periodically, and changes elements when Swirled.

I can see Kazuha as a Burst support, rocking a four-piece Viridescent Venerer set to take advantage of the constant Swirl triggers from his Burst. His Passive talent brings it to the next level, giving an Elemental DMG bonus to your team based on his Elemental Mastery. After debuffing the enemy with Swirl, the damage increase is even more devastating.

My favorite thing about Kazuha, however, is his first Passive that reduces sprinting stamina consumption by 20%. It doesn’t sound that flashy, but saving Stamina on characters hungry for it like Hu Tao and Keqing can be indispensable. It’s great for Hu Tao especially, as it increases her uptime if you weren’t lucky to get her first Constellation.

After the demanding build-around Eula, it’s great to see another team player that can make your other units stronger. I already blew all my Primogems on Eula, but I’ll be doing my best to pull for Kazuha.
