Most people who want to spend more than a quarter of a million dollars generally look in the market for a house or some sort of investment. Some people may even buy a really expensive car or even a boat, but even that can be a stretch for some people. Well, if you are someone looking to spend more than a quarter of a million dollars, maybe you want to go against the normal a buy Queen Elizabeth II’s 24-karat gold Nintendo Wii.

Yes, you heard that correctly. A Nintendo Wii that was originally created for Queen Elizabeth II is officially up for sale on eBay for $300,000 after the owner says he is “moving on with his life.” The current owner is Donny Fillerup who is a founder and board member of Consolevariations.com.

THQ first created this console in 2009 as part of a marketing campaign for Big Family Games. THQ’s first thoughts were that they were going to make an extremely expensive 24K gold console and send it to one of the biggest families on the planet, the Royal Family. However, Buckingham Palace has some pretty strict gift guidelines and the package was ultimately returned back to THQ.

Unfortunately, in 2012 THQ filed for Bankruptcy and all of their hardware stock, which included the 24K gold Nintendo Wii, was bought by a private buyer. Donny would then later acquire the console in 2017 for an undisclosed price from the private buyer. According to Mr. Fillerup, the 24K gold Nintendo Wii has been valued by experts to be worth upwards of near $1,000,000. Donny Fillerup stated, “I don’t want to be greedy.”

Being how luxurious and one of kind the Nintendo Wii is, it makes you wonder what the true value of the console might be and if the real value truly reaches upwards of $1,000,000. If that was indeed the true value of it, why sell it for a 70% pay reduction. Selling an item like that for a tad bit more would not be greedy, but rather better valuing an item that is so extremely rare.

Fillerup has said he is in no rush to sell as he has already received multiple offers that range in the five digits. Right now you can view Mr. Donny Fillerup’s 24K gold Nintendo Wii listing on eBay for the $300,000 that he is looking to sell for. Donny wants this money to buy a house and move forward with his life.

It will be interesting to see whether or not anyone will buy this console for such an insane price, but then again with how rare this item is, there is always someone out there that would be willing to buy such a one-of-a-kind item. Even if the $300,000 is out of your budget, you can always make him an offer on his eBay listing for something cheaper. However, don’t expect him to sell it for a drastically cheaper price since he has been offered five-digit offers and has since yet to accept any one of those.
