Nintendo Switch: New game releases for October 2020
Super Mario Bros. 35, Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit and more highlight the list of new Nintendo Switch games coming in October.
September saw the release of Super Mario 3D All-Stars for Nintendo Switch but the Mario anniversary festivities haven’t stopped yet. Kicking off the month of October is Super Mario Bros. 35, a battle royale take on the classic platformer.
Arriving on October 1, Super Mario Bros. 35 pits 35 players against one another as they race against time to complete stages in Super Mario until they are the last one standing. It’s an interesting twist on the classic platformer as what you do in your game can be used to sabotage your opponents and hinder their progress.
Super Mario Bros. 35 is free-to-download on Nintendo Switch but is exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online members. It’s also only playable for a limited time until March 31, 2021.
Also arriving in October is Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, a mixed reality racing game that utilizes real-life, radio-controlled toys that actually respond and race around the room as you play the game on Nintendo Switch. The toy cars are equipped with a motor and camera that can turn your room into a virtual race track that you can play on in the game. It looks absolutely wild, though I imagine will require a bit of space to fully enjoy.

For those of you looking to get your cyberpunk fix while waiting for CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077, there are actually two sci-fi cyberpunk games releasing on Switch this month: Cloudpunk and Ghostrunner. Cloudpunk puts you behind the wheel of a HOVA as you deliver and collect packages and passengers for an illegal company. Ghostrunner is a parkour action game in which your goal is to ascend a tower and defeat its ruler. Both games look absolutely incredible.
