Everything trainers need to prepare for Porygon Community Day
Sunday, September 20, 2020, will be celebrating Community Day that puts Porygon, the virtual Pokemon in the spotlight. The first Community Day event of the autumn months that was decided by vote.
The efforts of trainers to continue voting for Community Day is a note of appreciation from Niantic for taking part in this for the third time this year. It is almost certain that this is a new popular format a trainer could possibly get used to when deciding Community Day and what Pokemon they can look forward to catching. Trainers were asked to vote from a choice of four Pokemon to be made available between the months of September and October. With the choices of Porygon, Caterpie, Charmander, and Grimer the trainers made their votes known on Twitter and selected Porygon to represent Community Day in September.
Porygon won the Twitter voting by a landslide victory with Charmander coming in second place. The popularity in demand is of course the opportunity to catch a shiny Porygon and add Pokemon’s evolutionary line to the same collection with Porygon2 and Porygon-Z. With both Pokemon needing items to evolve both Pokemon in the app, there is the expectation that there will be Special Research to acquire more Upgrades and Sinnoh Stones to evolve both Pokemon. Evolving the Pokemon into Porygon-Z will have the chance to learn the charge move Tri-Attack, which has the opportunity to lower an opposing Pokemon’s attack and defense in battles. This is a battle tactic trainers will definitely enjoy taking advantage of.
The Porygon Community Day event is to be held on Sun. Sept 20, 2020, from the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to local time frame wherever the trainer is playing Pokemon Go. The event will cost $1 (or whatever equivalent) for the players to purchase in the shop on the application that will come out of their account from Google Play or iOS store. There is also an additional in-game purchase that could happen the day of for a Community Day Box. This box would contain an Elite Fast TM, three Incense, six Lucky Eggs, and 30 Ultra Balls for a price of 1,280 PokeCoins. During the time frame of the event, the Incenses will have an extended timer for three hours instead of thirty minutes, so this will help trainers maximize their time to catch more Porygon. Another promotion that will happen during the hours of the event will give trainers three times the XP bonuses when catching Pokemon. Catching as many Pokemon as possible will help trainers level up on Community Day as well.
This Porygon Community Day will be one to remember because of the rare chance the shiny version will be available. Having a shiny Porygon or any of the species evolutionary line will be something to enjoy for the collector in Pokemon Go. The voting concept for selecting Pokemon in Community Day has truly shown that this is more in favor of the collectors and will take advantage of this if there are more events included in the future.
