PUBG Esports has announced the next chapter of online regional tournaments with the PUBG Continental Series 3 (PCS3) scheduled for November.
Like so many other leagues and organizations in the year 2020, PUBG Esports was forced to get creative and adapt its competitive schedule due to the ongoing impacts of COVID-19. Their replacement to the original 2020 schedule was a regional online tournament format that would allow PUBG Esports to be played despite the challenging circumstances that we all face.
Since the start of the PUBG Continental Series (PCS), fans of PUBG Esports have been treated to exceptional tournaments across four regions, each filled with their own iconic moments and exciting finales. As we approach the start of the PCS2 Grand Finals, PUBG Corp. has announced their plans to continue the successful series with the addition of PCS3 in November.’
PUBG Continental Series 3 (PCS3) will mark the fourth official PUBG Esports event of the year, considering the season kicked off with the PUBG Charity Showdown in late-May. While teams compete for their share of a $200,000 USD prize pool in the PCS2 Grand Finals this month, teams who were unable to qualify can set their sights on PCS3 as their next opportunity to make their mark.
With this announcement, PUBG Esport has decided to extend the match schedule of the PCS2 Grand Finals. Previously set to be played across two weekends, the PCS2 Grand Finals will now feature a three-weekend schedule and add four additional matches to the finals. The PCS2 Grand Finals schedule is now:
- PCS2 Grand Finals Schedule:
- North America: August 27-28, September 3-4, September 10-11
- Europe: August 29-30, September 5-6, September 12-13
- Asia-Pacific: August 29-30, September 5-6, September 12-13
- Asia: August 27-28, September 3-4, September 8-9
The PUBG Continental Series 2 Grand Finals marks the return of the fan-favorite, Pick Em’ Challenge, where players can predict the champion of each region’s tournament for a chance to win PCS2-exclusive items. All purchases of the PCS2 themed skins contribute to the prize pool, and a percentage of the money will go directly to teams competing in the Finals. Starting off at a $200,000 USD prize pool, the final amount will be determined by fans’ interest in the PCS2 skins.
