Funko’s ‘Afternoon with Eevee’ is leaving my wallet with ‘Months with Regret’

How Funko suckered me back in with its ‘Afternoon with Eevee’ line

A ways back I decided I was going to stop spending money on Funko Pops. I had cleared over a hundred of them but during that time I ran into a continuous problem. I have no idea what to do with them. When I bought my first one I had no idea where to put it.

Over a hundred Pop figures later I STILL don’t know. Their baby-like plastic forms flood most of my office to the point where I feel about a month from putting them all in dark storage containers somewhere and forgetting about them.

This is just three random shots off my office. Two of these are off my desk.

I was done with Funko.

Until a few months ago. Last year, Funko had this “Day with Pikachu” line of statues. Every month for a year they’d drop a new statue where it was Pikachu getting into different situations slightly related to the time of year. For March it was a lucky costume where he was dressed like a leprechaun and sitting on a pot of gold. In the winter he was building a snowman. Stuff like that.

It was cute but I didn’t need it. Eventually, it was over and done with and I never worried about it again. Until…

A couple of months ago, Funko announced that its next line was going to be “Afternoon with Eevee.” For nine months they were going to drop a new statue. The first one featuring two Eevees, playing in a field and for the last eight months, it was going to be a new statue, each featuring one of its different evolutions.

I tried to fight it but I love Eeveelutions so much. Then I found out that the nine statues, upon collecting them all, form a large statue. The landscapes of each statue merging together to create a large landscape and… Oof …Funko got me again.

So now, for every month I’ve had a box show up at my door with decoration Pokemon tape featuring Pikachu dressed as a mailman, proudly showing me the next thing I have no idea what to do with. For real.

I don’t even have a spot in my house big enough for me to put these all end to end. And I’m only six statues in with three more (Jolteon, Leafeon, and Umbreon) to go but look at them. This isn’t fair.

More from Nintendo

Each one of these is amazing as a standalone as well so if you have one particular one you’re looking for you’re not going to be remiss but I NEED them all. So much so that for the last half a year I’ve kept the tab open on their sales page just so I know I can snag it before it sells out whenever a new one appears.

Each one of these sells for about $15 but you get free shipping for orders of $20 or more and that’s always enough to sucker me. Why pay for shipping when I can get a dope Team Rocket pin, right?

Anyways, the previous ones are pretty hard to get now but like I said, Jolteon, Leafeon and Umbreon, or as my four-year-old calls them, “the boy ones,” are still on their way and I recommend snagging these, as long as you don’t get them before I do.
