Animal Crossing: New Horizons: How to make bells fast and profit off of Bunny Day

Bunny Day is coming to an end today in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but there’s still time to use this event to make tons of bells (money).

Over a week ago, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players got to meet the character Zipper T. Bunny, a character rife with conspiracy and mystery; a massive, creepy bunny with a clear zipper on its back who gets very annoyed if you look at the zipper and claims it’s not a suit. This is despite the fact that Zipper will occasionally complain about it being “hot in this thing”.

Since that day, the bunny has been left but in its place are eggs. Oh, those eggs. Eggs in the trees, the water, the air, the ground, the wood and somehow even inside the stone. And as I wrote about here, even the first fishing tournament was thrown off by the fact that you’d still occasionally catch eggs instead of fish.

So let’s see what the lead up is for. What’s happening on April 12 in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

Okay, so right out the gate I can tell Isabelle is excited so I trust her and her morning whisky. Except for a moment where she got this wicked look in her eyes and said, “We might even have a special visitor, hint hint.” I don’t like that.

Oh boy. There he is. Zipper is standing in my town square. And he starts off by rapping. I wasn’t prepared.

He then describes what we’re doing today. It’s an Egg Hunt. I have to show him one of each of the six eggs, which is lucky because I have about 40 of each in my inventory. He also says there’s a prize for whoever builds all the Bunny Day DIY items.

So, I told him I’ve built everything and he does a big rhyme about how impressed he is. Then he says I’ve completed all the tasks, stops and then yells, “EXCEPT THIS ONE OTHER THING!” which legit startled me.

He then whispers, “Did you really think it’d be that easy?” He then gives me another recipe and says, “This final challenge fills me with glee. You gotta craft a toy that looks…like ME!” So, I have to build this nightmare. The recipe calls for 4 of each egg, which is fine because I have more than enough.

After I complete it, he congratulates me on doing all the events and gives me a recipe for a Bunny Day wand. From there, all I have left to do is my regular daily stuff.

If you bring him one of any type of egg, he’ll give you a basket. I tried doing this multiple times and you only get baskets so there’s nothing much else to do with them. Though the Bunny Day baskets DO sell for 1,200 Bells a piece which isn’t bad. However, if you want to turn the eggs into bells, there is a way better way.

Here’s a list of how much the different items sell for:

  • Bunny Day Basket, Merry Balloons, Festive Balloons, Wall Clock, Stool: 1,200
  • Bunny Day Wardrobe, Vanity, Lamp, Table: 1,600
  • Bunny Day Glowy Garland, Bed: 2,400
  • Bunny Day Arch: 4,800
  • Bunny Day Wobbling Zipper Toy: 9,600
  • Bunny Day Wand: 11,100

Since I had so many eggs, I decided to make a ton of Wobbling Zipper Toys. One of each egg can make something that sells for 1,200 bells. Four of those goes for 4,800 but if you use 4 of each egg to make a Zipper toy you get twice as many bells. If you’ve got a ton of eggs cluttering up your inventory, this is the time to use them all and make some decent returns.

Oh, and don’t forget to sneak up behind Zipper. He hates it.
