Led by Mike Trout, check out the five best Center Fielders (CF) in MLB The Show 20 Diamond Dynasty at launch.

This week, Sony San Diego’s MLB The Show 20 developer live stream was all about Diamond Dynasty. The popular game mode returns this year and with it comes the new Diamond Club, which is essentially a way to delineate the best players in the mode (those rated 85+ overall).

In addition to revealing Diamond Club players, Sony went ahead and revealed the best players at each position. Before we get into the list, it should be noted that Diamond Dynasty ratings are different than the ratings you’ll find in other modes. In Diamond Dynasty, ratings are calculated using a three-year rated average. Once the season begins, Sony will begin weighting the ongoing season a little more heavily when determining player ratings to better mimic real life.

5. Starling Marte (Arizona Dimaondbacks) – 83

Rounding out the top-five Center Fielders at launch is Starling Marte. Again, though, this could change once the season kicks in. Right now it looks like Ketel will be moving to second base and we’ll get a better idea once Spring Training begins.

Starling is just a Silver hitter, but with live updates, Sony expects that to improve and eventually he’ll make his way into the Diamond Club. He seems to struggle versus left-handed pitchers with just a 55 CON L and 54 POW L. He’s got 84 CON R and 58 POW R, so we’ll see if he improves at all in these categories. If he can get on base, he’s got 78 SPD, 75 STEAL and 97 BR AGG.

Defensively, he’s Gold with 84 ARM and 87 ACC. His fielding can use a bit of work with 65 FLD and 65 REAC). There’s definitely room for Starling Marte to improve  and no one would be surprised if he works his way into the Diamond Club.
