FIFA 20 Road to the Final kicks off with first batch of UCL & UEL RTTF FUT cards
The first batch of FIFA 20’s Road to the Final (RTTF) players have arrived in FUT 20, introducing dynamic player items that upgrade based on real life.
FIFA 20‘s Road to the Final, one of the most popular and anticipated events in Ultimate Team, has arrived.
Having officially kicked off yesterday, the first batch of Road to the Final players are now available in packs. The first group consists of a total of 17 players across the Champions League and Europa League.
What makes Road to the Final unique is that these are special dynamic Player Items that actually upgrade based on teams’ progress in real life, meaning their in-game ratings can increase throughout the season.
All RTTF items have received an in-form upgrade at launch (about an extra point or so in each major attribute) and will continue to receive in-form upgrades each time their team succeeds at select stages throughout the tournament. They’ll receive a one-point increase to their overall rating for qualifying from the group stage and a one-point increase for every knockout match their team wins.
As EA notes, a Road to the Final player does not need to be selected or play in each stage to receive an upgrade either.
There are 14 players from the UCL and three from the UEL in the first batch of FUT 20’s Road to the Final. Here is the first group of RTTF players:

This first batch of RTTF players will be available in packs until November 15. A second set will be introduced on November 15 and will be available until the end of the event on November 18.
According to the accompanying FAQ, if a player’s team finishes third in the UEFA Champion League group stage, the player item will be updated to a UEFA Europa League: Road To The Final item, but will not receive an upgrade for advancing to the knockout stage; however, they will continue to receive upgrades if their club advances in the EUFA Europa League. The upgrades stop once a player’s team has been knocked out of either tournament.
