31 terrifying monsters and enemies from video games that’ll haunt your Halloween
By Bryson Hile
Video games are chock-full of terrifying monsters and enemies so here are another 31 just in time for Halloween.
Last year around this time, we released a list of 31 terrifying monsters and enemies in video games. During the planning of that piece, we realized there are a ton of scary video game monsters and enemies.
We knew we had to make another list so here it is. Be sure to check out the previous article if you missed it and suggest any other monsters and enemies you think should have been on either list. We may consider them for next year.
This list features monsters and enemies from previously listed game series because some series are really screwed up. We are looking at you Outlast. However, this list also features some abnormal monsters and enemies that some may not consider at first glance. We thought they needed to be included because of how detrimental they are to that specific game or how they make us feel when interacting with them.
Regardless, everything on this list is a terrifying beast out to get you.
1. Resident Evil 2 – Mr. X
The Resident Evil franchise is full of messed up stuff. Earlier this year, we were reintroduced to the lumbering giant, Mr. X, in the Resident Evil 2 remake. Mr. X is giant biomass that can surely take a beating. It doesn’t matter what you do to him in the game, he is able to walk away from it without a scratch. He is sent to Raccoon City to retrieve the G-Virus sample in which Sherry Birkin is carrying.
Mr. X is a formidable foe in that he can take almost anything that is thrown at him. Simple weapons are no match for his durability. He requires some extra strength equipment to at least slow down. For example, a swat van could not slow down his monstrous stature. No one would want to come face-to-face with this menace.
