WWE 2K26 is doing away with the season pass format we've had since 2K Games took over, and going to an NBA 2K-style battle pass. A new blog post explains the changes, and it's industry standard "we want you online constantly" stuff.
Free Pass vs Premium Pass
The free pass will contain 60 rewards across 40 tiers, including some bundles. Players will collect XP along these game modes, as long as they have an online connection (sigh)
- Play Now
- Universe
- MyRISE
- Showcase
- MyGM
- MyFACTION
- The Island
The premium pass will contain an additional 60 rewards, including the latest DLC wrestlers
The Passes Don't Expire
This part is actually better than NBA 2K. When a new season of Ringside Pass releases, the old one isn't locked. You can continue the path you're on, or move on to the newest one and come back later if you choose. The pass content will be usable by any family member sharing the same console, but pass progress is unique to profiles.
The Supercharger is No More
The Supercharger, which unlocked the WWE Legends in previous years, won't be offered anymore, 2K has confirmed. The premium reward track will allow players to purchase level skips, but there's no longer a way to unlock everything for free.
Season Schedule
- Ringside Pass Season 1: March 6
- Ringside Pass Season 2: April (Before WrestleMania 42)
- Ringside Pass Season 3: June
- Ringside Pass Season 4: July
- Ringside Pass Season 5: September
- Ringside Pass Season 6: October
I honestly hate to see WWE 2K going down this path. I struggle to finish the battle passes in these games already, and this is my actual job. I can just imagine what it's like for everybody else. As I've mentioned, this should hopefully could down on stuff like the Pat McAfee and his Boys DLC packs. Since we don't buy the Season Pass all at once any more, each season will need compelling content to get money from us.
