WWE 2K25's tag team MyFaction event was unexpected Thanksgiving fun

I've played hundreds, if not thousands of matches in WWE 2K25's MyFaction this year. But they're ending November with a tag team event that has reinvigorated my love for the often grindy mode. Tag team wrestling doesn't get the respect it did when I was younger. Some of my favorite matches ever involved the likes of the Road Warriors, the Four Horsemen, and the Hart Foundation.

This event brings back a lot of those memories. It doesn't hurt that they just dropped the excellent Saturday Night's Main Event DLC full of 80s era grapplers. WWE 2K25 has a wealth of tag team mechanics that, to be honest, I never used until this event. There are "hot tags," that allow a wrestler to come in with a trademark finisher already equipped. That turns them into the proverbial "house of fire" that comes in, cleans out the ring, and either gets the pin or gets close.

There's a delicious pleasure in effectively cutting the ring in half, turning your opponent into the Ricky Morton that gets beatdown for five minutes or more. If they get that hot tag, then the match erupts into glorious chaos. To keep matches from going forever, the athlete on the apron gets to break up one pin and is restricted from doing it again until there has been a fresh tag.

This also helps defend against the classic strategy of using one wrestler so OP they don't ever need to tag out. Sure, Brock Lesnar is a beast, but can he handle both the New Age Outlaws tagging in and out quickly and stacking finishers in the process?

This mode has been a fun change for those of us savage enough to still be grinding MyFaction in what will soon be December. I want to run through with the Outlaws, the Brothers of Destruction, the Mega Powers, and any other classic tag team I can think of before this event ends.
